Ravens Bolster Secondary by Drafting T.J. Tampa in Round 4

The Baltimore Ravens addressed a position of need in the 2024 NFL Draft, selecting cornerback T.J. Tampa out of Iowa State with the 130th overall pick in the fourth round. This selection comes after the Ravens used their first-round pick on another cornerback, Nate Wiggins.ZZZ

Tampa was a highly-touted prospect coming out of college, projected by some analysts as an early Day 2 pick. The Ravens were fortunate to land him in the fourth round, adding significant depth and competition to their secondary.

General Manager Eric DeCosta emphasized the team's strategy of prioritizing the best available talent on Day 3 of the draft. With Tampa on the board, they saw an opportunity to add a player with starting potential, solidifying their secondary for the upcoming season.

Analysts praised Tampa's athleticism and press-man coverage skills. His arrival in Baltimore will provide much-needed competition for playing time alongside Marlon Humphrey and the newly drafted Wiggins. The Ravens secondary is now poised to be a strength of the team.
